ROBIN VAN PERSIE OFF TO BRAZIL

Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie could be off to South America to get some more club football action as his reps are reportedly holding meetings with Sao Paulo ahead of a likely deal for the 33-year old Dutchman.

The player who features for Turkish outfit Fenerbahce has struggled to get goals since the turn of the new year, scoring last in November.

A popular news source in Brazil Tutto reports that the club’s officials are in talks in Amsterdam in a bid to seal the deal. Sao Paulo’s head Carlos Augusto is known to be a fan of the skipper. He was quoted to have said:

“We want to add someone to the squad around the world, and Robin van Persie has drawn attention here at the World Cup [2014 in Brazil] and we want to add it to our team if the conditions are met.”

Drogba cancelled a proposed move to play in the A-League as the intended outfit were not clear to participate in the league. He has been clublesss since exiting the MLS. The former Ivory Coast international has been offered a deal to play in Brazil. If he agrees to the move he could feature against RVP when he lines up for Corinthians.

The Brazilian side are keen on the Chelsea legend moving to the top footballling country that they have offered him an armoured car, first class tickets when he wants to travel, a luxury accommodation, a personal translator at his beck and call. His wages would be in the range of £25,000 weekly, which is much for the small club.

The 38-year old has played in different parts of the world and could agree to the move and play for a season or two before he retires.
