VAN PERSIE NOT FOR SALE
Talismanic Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie will be told that he will not be sold in the summer even if he doesn’t pen a new contract extension at the Emirates Stadium, it has been revealed.
The striker’s contract runs out at the end of next season, which means that he will be able to talk to possible suitors from January and walk out on Arsenal for nothing during next summer’s transfer window and Arsenal are ready to accept that.
According to the reports that have been received, Arsenal believe that they will not be able to get a good deal for the striker at his age, with none of the sides linked to him willing to part with more than $ 25 million for a player who will be blowing candles on his 28th birthday in the summer. Van Persie has, by far, been the best performer for Arsenal this season, leading the side on his own many times and he has strongly been linked with a move away from Arsenal at the end of the season.
It is reported that European champions FC Barcelona and bitter rivals Real Madrid, Italian giants Juventus and English Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City are all eager to snap up Robin Van Persie but Arsene Wenger and the board at Arsenal know that none of them will pay anything around $ 40 million for a player who, at best has 5 years in his best form.
In a way, they would rather risk losing him for free than sell him for $ 25 million this summer with no suitable striker available at the market at present. But according to the agent of the player, Robin Van Persie is not yet thinking of a move and will only discuss with Wenger once the season ends.
